"Be patient towards all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves... Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given to you because you will not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer."

- Rainer Maria Rilke

Hi there. If you have been pondering over my absence from school for the past three days, it's not because I have spontaneously begun my "study break" but rather I had to have my appendix removed. Shocking? Lol no, not really. In fact I was lucky that my condition was discovered in the early stages or else if my appendix were to burst due to the inflammation, things would have gotten messier. A massive operation would then be required to wash my guts and I would have to remain in hospital for at least 3 weeks(which means I probably won't need to take the O's, which is not a bad idea if not for my HCL lol)
Want to know what happened?

Wednesday. 30/09/09.

6am.

Sian time to wake up and get ready for school as always. But this time, I woke up with this worrying pull at the right side of my abdomen. Since i was lazy, i thought i would probably just visit the doctor and get a MC while i savour a few more hours of sleep.

1pm.

Lunch and doctor's appointment. Doc did a few checks here and there and kind of suspected appendicitis with a probability of 9/10. Kind of weird because it was not as if i ate and went around hopping and shooting hoops it was just an ordinary, normal day for me.

3pm - 8pm

Went to SGH. And i swear hospitals do make you lose your dignity and pride. First, i had to take a urine sample and walk through a corridor filled with people watching tv or whose eyes would probably be trailing those who walked by. Ok, nvm, i wrapped the cup with tissue paper so the distinct yellow colouring would not be so conspicuous. Next, I got a queue number and waited to see the doctor. He too, highly suspected that it was appendicitis and arranged for me, a x-ray and some checks here and there. Then he asked me to lie down and started asking me questions like "how old are you?", "which school?" like come on man, I watch tv and i ain't dumb. He was just trying to distract me which attempting to sneak a large needle into my vein. But apparently he had failed and my consciousness of his following act made the pain alot more worse.
Then, I had to change into this clownish gown and was requested to hug this plastic board while my chest was being x-rayed. I was then referred to a surgeon, who would examine me for the final time before deciding if an operation was necessary. This was when things went awry. Apart from the usual checks on my abdomen, she then asked me to lie on my side. At first I didnt think much of it until i heard the sound of a latex glove being stretched and i realled what happened to jackie chan and chris tucker in Rush Hour when they were suspected of smuggling drugs up their ***. The request to remove my underwear only confirmed my worst fear and the doc...yeah u know.
Was brought to the ward after that and was supplied with this glucose drop to keep me nourished. But for some stupid reason i still felt hungry and a strong desire to eat even though the glucose drip would have prevented me from feeling hungry. It was then i realised the fluid wasn't dripping -.-

Thursday. 01/09/09

3am.

Two nurses came to wake me up and told me to change into a gown and get ready for the op. And just like on tv, i was wheeled on this "trolley" all the way into the operating theatre where everyone who saw me repeated "Do you have any drug allergies?" and "may i have your IC number?" so many times that i was sick of it.
And there was this funny guy who joked with me and told me i won't feel a thing at all and there was also this surgeon who was like "yeah marcus! be a man! remove your appendix!" They then fed me with anesthetic and the scene of the lights above me faded out and the next moment i knew, i was lying on a cold hard platform without underwear and an excrutiating pain on my right side. This was particularly scary for awhile because you would be wondering where the hell you are, why you are naked and why does your right side hurt so much it probably seems like a date rape and someone removed your kidneys for a handsome profit.

Today

To fast-forward, woke up, ate porridge, took painkillers, changed, waited for dad, home. Thanks for the well-wishes too and i shall see you all on monday.

Hello all. (points at the date of the previous post and laughs)
This blog will be on hiatus cus I will be busy studying, and you should too.

Bye.

Sunday, July 5, 2009, 7:54 PM

Woke at up at 12 today. Washed up, blog-hopped, and got ready for soccer at 2.
Was slightly late but others like Joseph were even later. -_-
Strolled to the field at Compassvale Primary only to find that it was freaking closed. Louis then called this Hassan guy who was supposedly the warden in charge of the field. Lol at his malay accent (louis I mean), maybe he IS a natural.
Anyway after like 15 agonizing minutes or more, the Hassan dude called back and said the field was closed for like 2 months for who knows what reason. Damn it leh seriously.
So by applying the HOM "Thinking Flexibly" (bullshit), we headed to some empty grass patch to play. The grass patch was huge man lol you can like build two malls on it. Then the fun started.

BUT, after about 30 pathetic, miserable minutes of gameplay, it had to rain. Damn, just when the goals were rolling in.

All of us scrambled for shelter at some nearby void deck and poker cards dominated the entertainment sector. -.-
Those who weren't gambling were fooling around with the 2 soccer balls.

Then, we finally made a decision to play at some nearby multipurpose hall. Wasn't as good as the grass patch, but oh well, you make do with what you have. Had a couple of quick matches with loads of funny stuff happening like Wesley heading the socket box on the wall, me falling down despite the precaution I took to decrease my pace (and I still fell like a fool in the end). Yuxiang's fall was..LOL.

And of all the things to happen today, the last thing I would expect was to get into trouble with authority and goddamnit it did happen. Police started to interfere and take down our particulars we were making hell of a din and in the first place, soccer was prohibited there. Don't be surprised if Mr Singh calls us out on Tuesday. -_-

Had dinner after that and headed home with JH, Louis and WM. Was stranded at the bus stop cus there was a heavy downpour and I wasn't armed with a brolly. To make things worse, my earpiece was spoilt like the f--- leh. So sat there like a homeless child watching the lightning flash across the sky and listening to the pelting of the raindrops on the shelter protecting me.

Hope and salvation then came in the form of a small, tiny physique who had reached out a helping hand and in it, clutched an extra umbrella.
Maids are useful lol.

Now I need to nurse that ankle of mine. Bye

12:00 AM

MYE's over. Quite a letdown though shall not talk about it.

Catched Transformers 2 today at Orchard. Awesome action-packed epic movie, one of the best movies I have ever watched. Lol 5/5 but with Megan Fox let's make it 6/5 instead.
Walked around Orchard after that and had Subway for dinner. It feels great after exams although the enjoyment is only temporary because Prelim's are in 3 weeks time.

But before it's time to hit the books once more, there's soccer to look forward to tmr.
And maybe pool on monday.

So long guys.

Friday, June 19, 2009, 11:52 PM

Woohooooooooooooo I got my slippers today like finally. Got another design apart from the one I wanted cus there is only 1 pair left in Singapore so...yeah.
Chionged Citylink, Rafflesplace and some other mall with SB today within two hours. Damn, I want to buy the pink polo tee at Mark's & Spencer's but its $45. No money man sian.
Oh yeah and Esther freaking forced me to go for a picnic at Botanic Gardens tmr?! Lol "one evening won;t hurt la seriously marcus!" T_T I still have geo, physics and chem to chiong. zzz
Louis and Mabel also kind of persuaded me to go for the BBQ on monday also. !!! I seriously hope the school "holidays" will be extended because of H1N1 so I get an additional 1 week's grace.
Bye.

Thursday, June 18, 2009, 11:07 PM

Short post.
Chatted until 3 am this morning and woke up at 12 plus today lol. Very long never talk until so shiok le (: Sis left for her korea study trip this afternoon and she will be back a month later. That means I won't be able to play my ancient
Fifa 2005 with her bf anytime soon lol.
Have been busy with revision and sedly enough I will not be able to attend the BBQ this coming monday. Sorry guys.

Anyway, I'm finally going to get my slippers tmr
Till then.

Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 9:43 PM

Wanted to update ytd on Xn's birthday celebration but my dad came home so late that I fell asleep before I got the chance to use the laptop. Will be uploading the group photos sometime soon cus' apparently, someone is either too lazy/too hardworking to come online and send them to me lol. Played ball games after lessons ytd and now I have this massive bruise on my middle knuckle, should have resulted from punching the volleyball. -.- And sorry louis for accidentaly kicking your finger and also very sorry to weiming for accidentaly kicking your __ full force and causing you to collapse in agony.
Anyway, when my browser loaded, I saw this link "10 most common dreams explained" and out of curiousity, I went to browse the page and here's some information that may be shockingly relevant to you as well.

1. Faulty or lost items: your phone won't work, your car breaks down, or you can't find your husband. This dream is alerting you to areas of your life that need repair or extra care right now. You may want to slow down and pay more attention to the realm of life indicated. For example, if you dream of your phone not working, notice how you are communicating to others now. Are you doing everything you can to get your message across in a positive way? If not, you may want to tune up this area of your life.

2. Money: you received a windfall, or you lost your savings in the stock market.Money in dreams symbolizes what you value or find important in life. If you dream of suddenly receiving a sum of money, this indicates that you are at a time in your life when your values are becoming very clear to you. If you have dreams of losing money, you may be experiencing a time of feeling separated from your sense of meaning in life. Try to explore what has been important to you in the past to see if your values have changed or altered over time.

3. You find yourself back in the classroom, or you've failed a test. This dream indicates that there is a challenge in your life and you fear failing. It also can mean that you may feel that you have regressed in some way and are not up to the task currently at hand. You may also feel judged or tested by an authority figure or someone who is in charge of you in some way.

4. You or a loved one is ill or dying. You may be approaching a time of great change when some parts of your life are falling away and disappearing. This dream is helping you to practice the feelings of loss that you may be having as the elements of your life or your relationships with others change and evolve. It is rare that this dream forecasts an actual death or illness, but it still might be a good idea to get a checkup or pay extra attention to your health now.

5. Being chased. Being chased in a dream indicates that you may be feeling you have a lot of responsibilities that you are having a hard time keeping up with. This dream is often known as a "stress dream," indicating that its presence is a sign to try to relax and slow down.

6. Teeth: you're smiling with nice, clean teeth, or your teeth are breaking off or forming cavities. Teeth represent time, stability, and maturity. The state of the teeth in your dream will give important clues as to what your relationships and feelings are related to these important life themes.

7. Nudity. Dreams where you or someone else appears nude relate to feelings of being exposed or vulnerable in waking life. You may currently be having an experience where everyone else seems to know about your problems and issues, and you are having a hard time processing your situation privately.

8. Falling, flying, or sinking.Changing direction, either going up or down in a dream, indicates where your awareness is in waking life. Dreams of falling or sinking symbolize a time of being more aware of your unconscious mind and deepest innermost thoughts, feelings, and memories. Dreams of flying indicate that you are exploring your conscious mind at this time or connecting to the realm of spirits, angels, and other energetic beings.

9. Water in dreams is a sign that a certain emotional situation or experience is of importance in your life. Now is a good time to pay particular attention to your feelings and the realm of the imagination, dreams, and fantasies. The condition or state of the water will give clues as to the exact nature of your experience. Hurricanes and storms can indicate more challenging emotional situations, and on the opposite side, gentle streams and lakes indicate a more calm and peaceful emotional state or even a love or romantic connection.

10. Missing a boat, plane, bus, etc. Transportation vehicles in dreams symbolize the ability to move and act in the world. They represent our will, desire, and skill at accomplishing and manifesting our dreams and goals. When one of these vehicles is missing, it can mean that we are having a hard time finding the motivation to act and move in the world. We may need to reconnect with what drives or propels us into creatively manifesting our dreams.

Wtf man. I keep dreaming of my teeth breaking off and being chased by somebody in slow-mo, #4 isn't new either.... Well maybe stress is kicking in but the info on teeth dreams is quite irrelevant? Went to read up more on dreams on teeth and I received a whole lot more of worrying info.
Maybe someone can explain why I dreamt of being Albus Dumbledore(ridiculous) one night with the ability to cast insane spells and jinxes, and having to battle Voldemort(who was a XMS teacher in my dream), my nemesis in the HP series, plus save the students in the school from a most terrifying death. But if that's the case, aren't I supposed to be Harry instead?

This is worrying.

I built a ship today

Had a great day today man. Went shopping with sis in the morning to buy baby Lauren's present and some other stuff. Our first stop was Bishan and it's amazing how you can get there in just 2 mins with circle line. Walked around for about 45 mins and we managed to get a baby singlet and mini shoes for Lauren. After that we headed to PS to buy other stuff. Lol the dinosaur exhibition was cool man and I was damn lucky to have come across some sale at the first floor which sold those wooden DIY stuff where you get to assemble the thing yourself. Bought a ship for myself and it's awesome just look at the pictures.
Then we went to Cathay to look at slippers and we spotted the Singpapore Idol- wannabes queueing inside waiting to get their id photos taken and their auditions to start. Oh yeah and NUM had a 50% sale on haviannas! But damn suay man the ones I wanted were sold out in size. The sale lasts till 14 june, so if anyone's interested let me know we can go get it together.

Now, behold...

This was what it looked like at the start. But after 3 hours and lots of superglue...

Nice right..

It's now displayed on the piano for all to see.

That's all folks. Gonna have pasta and brownies for dinner that my sis made [;

Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 5:25 PM

Nasty surprise this morning. Came to school late despite waking up early, and then just when I thought I could relax during math lesson, Ms lim gives us a full 2-hour paper. -.- realised i forgot almost all of the sec 3 topics. Played basketball after school, 401 vs. 404. Lol we lost, but at least it was fun. Well, if our star chopper(vincent) had played more quarters we could have managed maybe a draw.
Went to have Seoul Garden buffet ytd with lots of 03 people. Damn it man, I walked past Seoul Garden like 4-5 times without realising it was there. I totally looked like an idiot lol. Was abit disppointed with the spread there cus there was no salmon sashimi. Zzz that was the only thing I was looking forward to. At least the clams and the fish were damn nice, spammed loads of it. Oh yeah and I think we were damn noisy cus many people turned their heads towards us with disapproving frowns on their faces and the fat couple beside my table was threatening to tear us to shreds.
Wasted alot of time after eating walking around and deciding what to do. If we had left earlier, maybe we would have managed a few more rounds of Mj lol. Wow Junhua managed to play for more than an hour and Mabel is damn tyco I swear. Taught Sharon how to play but I guess she's still kind of noob right now.
That's all.
Sian, nothing to look forward to tmr.

Don’t you wish you could just leave all this nonsense behind?
(:

The perfect words never crossed my mind,
cause' there was nothing in there but you
I felt every ounce of me screaming out
But the sound was trapped deep in me

All I wanted just spin right past me,
While I was rooted fast to the earth
I could be stuck here for a thousand years,
Without your arms to drag me out

There you are standing right in front of me,
All this here falls away to leave me naked
Hold me close cause' I need you to guide me to safety

No, I won't wait forever

In the confusion and the aftermath,
You are my signal fire
The only resolution and the only joy,
Is the faint spark of forgiveness in your eyes

There you are standing right in front of me,
All this here falls away to leave me naked
Hold me close cause' I need you to guide me to safety

No, I won't wait forever
No, I won't wait forever

Turns out intensive chinese remedials are not that bad actually, in fact I prefered it to other subject remedials maybe because miss tee is a damn good teacher. Chinese seems interesting when she teaches it, not like ___.
Lunched after school with louis, weiming, xinan, leling, chingyee and umme(?!). Btw sorry ah pearleen we mj some other time. Then we went to slack at the playground for awhile and play blind mice LOL. Xiang Dang Nian(sorry com can't process chinese words). Umme is a big cheater lol. Liao Tian for awhile at the bus stop and like louis, I have found new respect for Umme.
We explored the dark past of certain intriguing characters and got to know some other people better. (Lol at louis's far-fetched intuition)

When we reached serangoon, louis and I decided to explore Circle line and it's DAMN COOL. Around Singapore in 8 mins:

The great glass elevator

Louis spotted this guy watching Mad Tv's version of Deal or No Deal on the travellator and he(the latter) was smiling to himself as though he was watching R rated stuff.

Hilarious:

and,
some people just have to stop exclaiming how hot some korean guy in "Boys over Flowers" is. Right louis?

Tuesday, May 26, 2009, 5:28 PM

It's been ages since I last updated.
Random stuff:
1. I thought the champion's league final would be on wednesday morning but to my horror it's on thursday instead. Damn, if not I would have went for Limelight.

2. One month left to mid-years and I haven't started studying yet. =.=

3. The version of Mad World by Adam Lambert is awesome!

4. If you are in need of a laugh,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxTY5mn8YTM

Nothing much to blog about lately, haven't been up to anything interesting these few days maybe because the heat is getting on my nerves. This is insane like seriously, 401 is so hot i think if this carries on we will be able to see newspapers combust spontaneously and fry eggs in class.

And friday's PE is cancelled for the sake of chinese. wtf man this is unbecoming

"A moment on your lips, a lifetime on your hips." lol

Tuesday, May 19, 2009, 6:09 PM

I swear this two weeks are gonna be torture man. Intensive Chinese Remedial until almost 5 everyday. Oh wow. Anyway Miss Tee lessons are good like seriously she covers alot of content compared to what Pang does.

1 lesson from miss tee = 50 lessons from pang -.-

My brain sot diao alr during chinese, not used to that much info being absorbed during one lesson.
But on the bright side, it's better than coming home and wasting my time away.
Oh yeah the Mrt kind of like broke down today? Disrupted, according to what that guy in green uniform said.
"The next train to Punggol is...(after a long pause) very crowded." =.=! "Passengers are advised to wait for the next train that will arrive in 10 mins. Not the next train, but the next next train."
Lol his english needs improving

I think I'm gonna de-stress by killing worthless bots in CS later

Saturday, May 16, 2009, 10:23 PM

My parents are back from London! And the best part is my dad bought a Manchester United scarf for me, gonna hang it on my wall tmr.
Backtracking, Xavier and I apologised to Mr Rod on friday. Heng man, finally managed to bump into him after calling at the staff room for like 3 times. Felt great that our apology was accepted, a huge burden was lifted off our shoulders. Anyway, I have to do whatever it takes to stay awake during bio from now on or else its the gallows for me.

Enough talk.

ALL HAIL THE RED DEVILS!
and they just clinched another BPL title today!

Mona Lisa

Some museum

You should know what this is

Some shopping mall that sells all the branded and high-class stuff

Branded bags my mum brought home. No, don't scare yourself, not all are hers

Mac's

Do we have this here?

Mum and Dad at the award presentation ceremony

Now I'm going to satisfy my savage urge for MJ

Wednesday, May 13, 2009, 8:45 PM

Finally, I managed to connect to the internet using this ancient laptop. Seriously it's so lousy it took me like 10+ tries to try and connect and the network connection was still cut off every now and then. I swear it took me great pain to upload this post, one minute the connection was there and the next it was lost. Argh
Anyway, sorry for the lack of updates I have been virtually cut off from the world since my dad brought the better laptop to London for work. Lucky for this old piece of shit, if not I would have to endure until Sunday till he gets back.
Played soccer after school today lol, thanks ah Noel for the PE attire. Overall the game was fun, except that the opposition was dominating and most of us were scrambling to defend their onslaught of attacks. Nothing special to blog about today, I'm just happy to be able to access the internet lol. 1 week without a com is NO JOKE

Oh yeah and thanks for the tags, they kept this blog alive I guess.

Replies to tags:

Siewbeng: No you're not
Umme: Hey
Bernice: poo in the pool!
Shuxian: yeah thanks man
Chella: lol sry ah but I dunno what you're referring to
Leling: yo.
Junhua: No prob man. But bad news, the whiskey is finished
Louis: Lai hei de
Pauline: hello
YJ: link u some other time perhaps? when the other laptop is back

Thank god for the super-old and dusty Xbox too. =.=

Tuesday, May 5, 2009, 8:58 PM

Today has been a rather depressing day.
First of all, it was devastating to hear that the HMT test I failed (20/48) is actually part of the O level HMT paper last year.
Next, Chem wasn't well done either, quite disappointing.

It's time to buck up man.

Supper

Updating on the supper outing I had on Thursday night. So Joel was feeling random in school and on the spur of the moment, he asked Siewbeng, "Eh beng, let's go for supper tonight". Lol and that was all it took for 6 people (Me, Joel, Siewbeng, Jagdave, Esther and Tsernting) to come down to Chomp Chomp to have an impromptu supper together. Watched the rest eat cus I had dinner already, but I still couldn't resist the sambal sotongs haha.

SPOT THE SOTONG!

Siewbeng and his cooked snail. Lol it's called Gonggong I think and according to Joel and his nonsense, it's called Gonggong cus the garden snail always very blur. =.="

Chomp Chomp's signature. (serving abit pathetic though)

LOL! He can eat non-halal stuff don't worry.

After eating, we went for a walk and got a little wild...

See my slipper that flew off? Most unfortunately, it broke..

Oh well, you make do with what you have.

More fun.

Gonna end off with this pic at the playground. Lol.

Let's go for supper again soon!

Lifesavers

Deshawn here you go.

This is a water-filled condom that is about to explode in case you don't know.
